To start the year off the school stopped ringing our 9:30 attendance bell so now I have to just remember to do it... I had a hard enough time remembering it with the bell.
We have had a great start to the school year and it is even better that our first weekend is a long weekend. What isn't great the kids who were still adjusting to school will have to start all over.
We have been working really hard on writing names. Some kids can write their names perfect, some use capitals or flip letters and others have no idea how to write their name. What fun things do you do to help your students write their names?

I am the worst at remembering the attendance...at 8:30...and no bell. This year, our principal has started putting your name in a fishbowl when you forget to post attendance, and when something comes up that he needs a "volunteer", he pulls from "the bowl". Yikes! :)
